The internal cable for axis 3 of the Mitsubishi RV-6SD/SQ is part of the internal wiring and transmits the motor and encoder signals of the elbow axis. Axis J3 enables the forward/backward movement of the forearm and is essential for the reach and positioning of the robot.
Function of the internal cable J3
The Internal Cable Assembly J3 connects the servo drive and encoder of the elbow axis to the central cable harness in the robot arm. During operation, axis 3 performs continuous flexing movements, during which the internal cable is constantly moved along with it. Over the service life of the robot, millions of bending cycles add up – even high-quality original cables eventually reach their wear limit.
