The safety relay for the Mitsubishi CR2B controller is a central element of the safety circuit in the robot controller. This safety relay ensures standard-compliant shutdown of the robot drives in the event of an emergency stop, safety door opening or other safety-relevant events.
Function of the safety relay
The safety relay in the CR2B controller is part of the redundant safety chain. It receives signals from emergency stop buttons, safety edges, safety door contacts and enabling switches and, when triggered, switches off the motor power supply while simultaneously activating the mechanical brakes. The dual-channel design ensures that the safety function is maintained even if one channel fails.
