The Motor Assy J1 for the Mitsubishi RV-3S series is the drive motor of the base axis for these compact 6-axis robots with 3 kg payload. As a brushless DC motor with high-resolution encoder, this servo motor enables precise position control of the J1 rotary motion and is therefore essential for the overall accuracy of all robot movements.
Technical features and function
The RV-3S series is among Mitsubishi’s most widespread compact robots and is used in electronics manufacturing, assembly automation and laboratory technology. Despite its compact design, the J1 motor has to deliver high dynamics combined with precision. The brushless design ensures freedom from maintenance and a long service life. The integrated encoder reports the current position back to the robot controller in real time.
Installation position
Installed in the robot base, the J1 motor drives the rotation of the entire robot arm about the vertical axis. It is the most heavily stressed drive element, as it has to accelerate and decelerate the inertial mass of all subsequent links plus payload.
