The Motor Assy J1 for the Mitsubishi RH-12SH is the primary drive of the base axis (J1) of this powerful SCARA robot with 12 kg payload. As a brushless DC motor with integrated encoder, this servo motor enables precise position control of the rotary motion in the base axis and thus forms the foundation for all of the robot’s motion sequences.
Technical features and function
The J1 servo motor is installed directly in the base of the RH-12SH and is responsible for the horizontal rotation of the entire robot arm. The combination of brushless DC motor and high-resolution encoder ensures exact angular positioning combined with high dynamics. In the SCARA design, the J1 axis carries the entire load of the arm including the workpiece, which is why this motor is particularly robustly dimensioned.
Installation position
The motor sits in the fixed base of the RH-12SH and drives the first rotary axis via a reduction gear. It carries the complete arm load and therefore has to deliver higher torques than the subsequent axis motors.
