The SAFE 2 safety relay (Riese operating voltage) for the Mitsubishi CR2B controller is a safety-critical component of the robot controller. This relay monitors the operating voltage and is part of the safety chain that ensures the immediate shutdown of the drives in the event of a fault.
Function of the safety relay
The SAFE 2 relay from the manufacturer Riese monitors the operating voltage of the CR2B controller and ensures that the drive power is reliably switched off in the event of voltage deviations, emergency stop actuation or safety door monitoring. As part of the dual-channel safety circuit, it has a redundant design and must be replaced immediately if defective – operating the robot without a functioning safety relay is not permitted.
