The Motor Assy J2 for the Mitsubishi RH-10AH drives the second rotary axis of this high-performance SCARA robot with 10 kg payload. This brushless DC motor with integrated encoder ensures precise position control of the second arm link and is therefore decisive for the reach and positioning accuracy of the robot.
Technical features and function
In the SCARA design, the J2 axis controls the rotation of the second horizontal arm segment. With the RH-10AH and its payload of 10 kg, the J2 motor has to move both the mass of the forearm and that of the workpiece dynamically. The brushless servo motor technology offers an optimal combination of torque, speed and service life. The encoder enables the positioning accuracies required for demanding assembly and handling tasks.
Installation position
The J2 motor is installed in the elbow joint of the SCARA arm and drives the rotation of the second arm segment relative to the first. This axis largely determines the workspace geometry and the cycle time in pick-and-place applications.
